Williamsburg gets the sneaker archive flex
Kith is showing its Footwear Archive at 25 Kent through Sunday, with more than 1,800 pairs, a new Assouline book and a Salmon Toe revival in the air.
Kith has turned 25 Kent into the sneaker room Williamsburg should be talking about this weekend. The brand says Kith: The Footwear Archive is on public display through Sunday, Sept. 27, with more than 1,800 collaborative footwear models, daily hours from noon to 6 p.m. and a sixth floor address at 25 Kent Ave.

This is not a casual wall of shoes. Kith describes the archive as a 15 year record of the category that first defined the brand, with released pairs, unreleased prototypes and friends and family editions preserved in Ronnie Fieg’s archive. The scale is the whole point. It is not one drop. It is the proof of the timeline.
The timing is doing extra work. Kith’s official page says the 444 page Assouline volume launches globally Sept. 30, exactly 15 years after Kith was founded. Exhibition guests get the chance to buy the Classic edition before the wider release, which makes the Williamsburg stop feel like the front row version of the book.
There is also the sneaker everyone will want to talk about. Kith’s anniversary week includes the Ronnie Fieg for ASICS GEL LYTE III Remastered Salmon Toe, a return to the colorway tied to Kith’s first Brooklyn store and first collaborative footwear release. Kith says the drawings run in the app from Sept. 25 through Sept. 27, with the global release set for Sept. 28.
Go for the rare pairs, obviously. Go for the museum feeling of seeing a private archive turned public for three days. Go because North Brooklyn rarely gets a fashion event that is this specific, this obsessive and this easy to explain to the friend who only needs to hear, yes, the shoes are the point.
The practical plan is simple. Use the North Entrance at 25 Kent, head to the sixth floor and confirm details through Kith before you go. This is a weekend window, not a permanent exhibit, so treat it like a now or missed it situation.
