Things to do this weekend in Williamsburg

Oct. 16 to 18, 2026: A music business Friday, a Diwali lunch plan and a Sunday market that gives the waterfront walk a purpose.

By The Edit: North Brooklyn · Oct. 15, 2026

Williamsburg’s Oct. 16 through 18 weekend has two very different starting points. Friday is the last day of Mondo’s music business conference at Arlo Williamsburg. Saturday brings Smorgasburg’s Diwali event to the waterfront. Pick your level of commitment before the group chat turns both into the same plan.

For Oct. 16 to 18, 2026.

The rest of this guide is deliberately smaller: a museum full of city objects and two greenmarkets that bookend the weekend. McCarren is the Saturday provisions run. Domino Park is the Sunday version, with the river already doing some of the entertaining.

Not every plan needs a ticket, but the conference certainly does. Its Friday badge is a professional purchase, not a casual cover charge. If that is not your weekend, begin with Saturday lunch and keep the saved money for whatever looks good at the stalls.

Schedules were checked Oct. 15. Outdoor plans can change with conditions, and a market’s producer list can change without the whole market closing. Check the official links before leaving for a particular vendor or session.

1. Make Friday a music business day, if that is your lane

Mondo finishes Friday at Arlo Williamsburg. The useful version is a focused program, not an expensive wander: choose the panels that matter to your work and read the badge terms before paying. Artist showcases use individual venues around the city, so the hotel address is not a promise that every performance happens on Wythe Avenue.

2. Let the Diwali market choose Saturday lunch

Smorgasburg lists a Diwali event at its Williamsburg market this Saturday. Make it a lunch meeting with room to browse, rather than booking a restaurant and trying to squeeze the stalls in afterward. The event page confirms the date, hours and free entry; food and drink purchases are separate.

Saturday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Marsha P. Johnson State Park, 90 Kent Ave. Free entry. The market’s visitor rules do not allow pets.

3. Give the City Reliquary the indoor hour

For a smaller sort of discovery, head to the Metropolitan Avenue museum and let the city’s overlooked objects set the pace. It is a good counterweight to a weekend spent looking at large buildings and large menus. Choose one detail to talk about afterward instead of trying to turn every display into a checklist.

Address: 370 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11211

Friday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. General admission $10; NYC residents with valid ID $8; children 12 and under free. 370 Metropolitan Ave.

4. Do the practical Saturday stop before lunch

McCarren Park Greenmarket is the errand that can improve the rest of the weekend. Shop for the dinner you actually plan to cook, then put the bags away before making Smorgasburg a second stop. GrowNYC’s current page lists the market as active and publishes the expected Saturday producers.

5. Leave Sunday’s bags for the waterfront market

Domino Park Greenmarket makes Sunday’s river walk useful without making it complicated. The seasonal market is listed as active through Nov. 22. Buy what you want to take home, then decide whether the waterfront deserves another half hour. There is no need to turn the walk into a separate expedition.
